Coming Up in the Near Future
I would like to bring up old articles from this blog, which I think are especially important. Today, I was reading an article on the Mukti revival in India. I would also like to form written articles from recent messages by our sons Mike, Daniel, and David. Perhaps I will also repeat some of their older messages, already posted here. At the moment, I am thinking of going to an old autobiography of Charles G. Finney, published in 1911, which now is out-of-print. I found it in my dad's library, sometime in the early 1960's and still have it in my possession, although the cover is torn off and a few of the first pages are missing. At that time, early in my ministry, a fire began to be kindled in my soul, that continues to burn today in this 21st Century. I plan to copy a few significant chapters in their entirety. I believe that you will find these on this blogspot in the very near future. I would also like to uncover the heart of Jonathan Goforth, who saw missionary revival in China.
These works will be an inspiration to the readers and edification in your spiritual progress. We are living in significant times, coming near to the end of this age. Nominal Christianity, prevalent in these days, is of no help to the hungry soul and there are few contemporary authors that I can recommend. To be sure, many doctrinal thesis can be found, but too many are clouds and wells without water. We need an outpouring of spiritual rain in our times, like that which occurred in various places in India, in Wales, on the Hebrides Islands, and in America in the Great Awakening of Jonathan Edwards' days, followed by the revivals of Charles Finney.
If that is your heart's yearning, please refer to this page in the near future. My desire is to see enough Christians, who will seek the Lord now; people, whose burning hearts are satisfied, not only through the inspired written word of God, but also through the providential acts of the Holy Spirit. I hope to whet those longings and feed the fire of the soul. May God help us all to be awake in unprecedented times and find our place as children of the day, so that we will not be overtaken by the Thief in the night.
